The fishing vessel Jeanette has been Dave’s home, his lifeline, and his livelihood for more than 62 years. But on August 20th, tragedy struck. Strong tides at Southshore Harbor rolled her over, and she capsized. Though raised by crane, everything inside was lost — socks, tools, electronics, and all of Dave’s professional fishing gear.

At 78 years old, Dave now faces homelessness for the first time in his life. Orphaned at age seven, he chose the sea at 14 and made the Jeanette his home by 22. For decades he worked up and down the West Coast, earning the radio name “Super Dave” for fishing solo and returning with full loads when others could not.
