Though raised by crane, everything inside was lost — socks, tools, electronics, and all of Dave’s professional fishing gear. At 78 years old, Dave now faces homelessness for the first time in his life. Orphaned at age seven, he chose the sea at 14 and made the Jeanette his home by 22. For decades he worked up and down the West Coast, earning the radio name “Super Dave” for fishing solo and returning with full loads when others could not.
